It's a shocking indictment of our society when people die because they felt there was no more hope

I experienced this scenario last week paying my respects at my friend’s son’s funeral.

A gut wrenching experience for all present, yet a memorial full of love, compassion and hope.

Suicide is not a conversation that many people like to have, however I believe it is the conversation we as a community MUST have.

Why does a young teenage man take his life thinking there is no more to live for?

These questions and more need to be addressed because today depression is effecting more people than ever before, especially the young, and we must do something about it.

A first good step is by building awareness and a recently released website for men by Beyond Blue called Man Therapy is an excellent first step.

The website speaks in a language that a man can understand.

Check it out for yourself or send the link to somebody you care about, remember, it’s a positive first step.
