Case Study 9: The Model

Sometimes it seems no matter how hard you work and how much recognition you receive in-house, your career never seems to take off the way you want it to. That was happening to *Mandy Crewe, a model for advertising brochures and in-house magazines.

She was one of those people that consumers vaguely recognised as ‘the face of…’, and she had plenty of work, but Mandy wanted more than that. Her ambition was to make the covers and pages of international glossy magazines as a photographic model and to travel the world for her work. Eventually she realised that she needed to become more visible in order to become noticed by the international fashion industry. In short, she had to create an instantly positive impression whenever her name was searched for online.

She contacted IGI Digital (a division of Image Group International), a personal brand enhancement company known for their ability to create celebrity personal brand enhancement plans that raised profiles and re-positioned clients at the top of online searches. Although she had a personal publicist and manager, IGI Digital worked with her team to expand and enhance her existing publicity. Her professional portfolio was updated and re-publicised and her personal and professional qualities emphasised.

Mandy’s brand was magnified as her credibility and assets became internationally published and she became known as a reputable ‘brand’. In turn, this established her professional leverage giving her greater credibility with potential clients and colleagues. Added to this mix were her previous professional experience and her easy-to-work-with personality. The campaign raised Mandy’s profile to such a degree that she was eventually offered work in Europe where she soon became a favourite of several high-quality fashion magazines.
