In one of Australia’s earliest large-scale studies on personal branding, the Australian Institute of Management (Victoria/Tasmania) partnered with Image Group International (IGI) to examine how professionals understand, develop, and apply their personal brand in a rapidly evolving business environment.

With 1,023 fully completed responses across all organisational levels, from emerging professionals through to senior executives, the research offers a grounded and data-led perspective on how “Brand YOU” influences performance, leadership effectiveness, and long-term career trajectory.

A National Lens, Not a Local Snapshot

Importantly, the findings are not confined to a single market. While anchored in insights from Victoria and Tasmania, the study reflects broader patterns observed across Australia’s key business centres, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and emerging professional communities in the Northern Territory.

This national lens reinforces a consistent reality: personal branding is not a vanity exercise. It operates as a performance driver in both online and offline professional environments.
